Eleanor Hoagland serves on several not-for-profit Boards, including the International Crane Foundation and the Wendell Gilley Museum. She is one of the organizers of the annual Conservation Forum of the City Gardens Club of New York. Eleanor has a particular interest in birdlife and conservation. She believes these can best be sustained when supported by solid economic analytics to strengthen decision making and priority setting.

Over a long career in the financial sector, she held roles in research, trading, asset management, risk management and compliance. Her work engaged her in evolving securities, markets, investment techniques and investment vehicles. She also worked for two financial start-ups, provided strategic advice to clients in the asset management industry and served on several fund Boards.

A native New Yorker who worked for a number of years in London, she graduated with a BA from Wellesley College where she majored in economics. She and her husband divide their time between New York and Maine.
